Small business tax preparation: records, scope and next steps
A business return starts with the right period and entity records. You can send existing accounting reports without deciding the business tax classification yourself.
Bring the records; confirm the classification
CincyTax’s existing business service covers corporations, pass-through entities and business owners within the scope agreed with the team. An entity name or an LLC registration alone does not tell this page which return applies. The team reviews available classification evidence and confirms the work.
You can start with incomplete materials. Uploading is not engagement, professional approval or filing authorization.
Useful business records to start with
- Income statement or profit and loss for the period.
- Beginning and ending balance sheets or trial balances; general ledger and adjustments if available.
- Prior business return and schedules, formation and ownership records, if available.
- Payroll and contractor payment summaries, and fixed asset purchase or sale records, if applicable.
Keep business and owner work separate
A business return and an owner’s personal return may have different scopes and records. Upload the original documents, then clarify which entity and period they concern through the secure process. Uploading both does not automatically engage the team for both services.
Confirm the work and fee before proceeding
After receipt, continue through the existing secure sign-in and claim process. The team confirms applicable years, jurisdictions, service scope and fees separately. Ask about additional or unavailable services before proceeding. No fixed price or completion date is promised by this page.
CincyTax is the customer brand; Real Nova World Corporation is the legal service provider. Contact the team for a non-sensitive scope question. Send private documents through secure upload, not ordinary email.
Questions before you start
What if my books are not finished?
Send the reports you have and tell the team through the secure process what is still being finalized. Reconciliation or bookkeeping work must be scoped separately; an unfinished report is not a final accepted balance.
Can I choose the company tax form from this page?
You can ask about scope without choosing a form. The team confirms classification and applicable work from your records; this page does not make that decision.
